SBIR: Startup Funding, Licensing & IP

​This workshop will provide early-stage founders with a practical overview of startup funding pathways, intellectual property strategy, and licensing considerations, with a focus on companies pursuing SBIR/STTR funding.

​Participants will learn how to approach capital raising, understand different funding sources, and develop an IP strategy that strengthens their competitive advantage. The session will also cover key licensing concepts and how to navigate technology commercialization opportunities.

​The session will be led by Daniel Jones, a seasoned startup operator and advisor with over 20 years of experience working with technology companies across sectors such as healthcare, ag-tech, fintech, and IoT. Daniel has raised capital both as an operator and investor and brings deep expertise in tech transfer, IP strategy, and working with academic and corporate spinouts.
